Recording a Release

When your feature ships, marking it as released in VEKTIS tells the system where to draw the line between “before” and “after.” This is what separates your baseline data from your post-release measurements.

Mark your dev item as released when the feature is live and available to users. You can do this from Planning or Development status.

  1. Open your dev item
  2. Click “Mark as Released”
  3. Enter the release date — the day the feature went live for users
  4. Confirm the action

The dev item moves to Measuring status, which means:

  • You can start adding post-release metrics (dated on or after the release date)
  • You can still add baseline metrics (dated before the release date)
  • The release date becomes the dividing line for all impact calculations
  • Can’t be in the future — you’re recording when something shipped, not planning when it will ship
  • Can’t be before your earliest baseline data point — this prevents your “before” and “after” periods from overlapping in a confusing way
  • If you have no baseline data yet, any past or today’s date is valid

The release date is set when you mark the item as released. If you need to adjust the timeline, you can update the dev item’s actual release date — but keep in mind that this may affect which baseline and post-release metrics are valid based on their dates.
